Setting up your Email Program

Pegasus Mail

To set up your Pegasus email program, follow these steps:

  • Open the application in the normal way.
  • Click on the Tools menu, and select Internet options...
  • Click the "Receiving (POP3)" tab.

Your current mail server settings are shown in the section titled "General settings for receiving mail via POP3". These settings point your email program to the computer where you normally get your mail. We suggest that you make a note of your current POP3 host and User name settings, in case you ever want to go back to the way it was before!

  • In the POP3 host field, delete the address there and enter the address: pop-proxy.death2spam.net
  • In the User name field, enter your login name (the one you normally use to collect your mail), followed by a colon (:) character, followed by the FULL address of the server where your mail is normally kept. The name of the server is usually displayed in the POP3 host field when the dialog box is first displayed.

If it is not, contact the help desk of your email provider (normally this is your Internet Service Provider) and ask them for the full address of their incoming mail (POP) server.

The completed fields should look something like what's shown below:

Pegasus setup

Click the OK button. Congratulations, you're now ready to retrieve your filtered emails!

Trouble-Shooting a Connection:
If you're experiencing any problems when configuring your email program, you should verify that you have entered the correct information, and that D2S is able to connect with your POP mail server. You can use the Verify Connection page to help you with diagnosing and fixing the problem. Please try this before reporting a bug or system malfunction!
