Trouble-Shooting a Connection

Death2Spam needs to be able to connect with your POP (Post Office Protocol) mail server, so that it can retrieve your email messages on request. If you're not sure about your POP server's name, have a look at your Internet mail reader's connection settings, and copy whatever's in the "POP3 Host" field, e.g. pop3.foobar.com. Alternatively, ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for this information.

Open the Verify Connection page, and fill out all the required fields. Please enter your logon ID and the password required to access your POP email account, as shown in the example below:

If, after clicking the OK button, you get the following error message:

Problem verifying your account at <richard@mail.foobar.com>
Error reported: "Unable to contact host server"
...you have entered incorrect details, or your POP host server is temporarily offline. Also note that certain Internet Service Providers deny customers access to their POP email from outside of the ISP's network. Web-mail access through D2S has been implemented for a number of such service providers, and is a high priority for our engineers!

If you see an error message stating "user unknown", you have most likely entered the wrong password (or made a spelling mistake in your user name). Otherwise, the test connection to your mail server was successful, and you should now be seeing the Server Connection Information page.
